Crowns & Bridges

Crowns are a way to restore teeth which are fixed unlike dentures which are removable. They are usually recommended when there is insufficient tooth structure to support a filling. Crowns are used most commonly to entirely cover a damaged tooth or cover an implant.
Teeth are fully restored to their proper appearance and function with a crown restoration, they cover the tooth completely, fitting just at the gum line, protecting the remaining tooth. Most crowns have tooth-coloured porcelain. The shade is customised to match your other teeth so that the crown will look just like a natural tooth.

Bridges are a series of connected crowns, replacing missing teeth by bridging the gap and using the surrounding teeth as abutments.
In addition to strengthening a damaged tooth, bridges and crowns can be used to improve the tooth aesthetics, shape, alignment and function. Gaps left by missing teeth can cause the remaining teeth to shift, which can result in a bad bite. Bridges and crowns help prevent this from happening.
